Fire Doors in Residential Buildings Diploma – IFSM Accredited
Two day Assessed Course
Understanding the requirements, carrying out inspections and assessing fire doors in residential buildings
In line with the proposed Fire Safety Bill first announced within the December 2019 Queens Speech, the Ministry for Housing Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) released a ‘Consolidated Advice’ note. The consolidated advice expects building owners to ‘assure themselves that the fire doors within their properties meet the specifications for fire resistance and smoke penetration’. This requires a risk assessment to be completed on each individual door by way of an inspection, and where necessary, to effect remediation or replacement.
This detailed, professionally designed 2 day course has been developed specifically for the housing sector to provide compliance with the recent direction from the MHCLG.
This two-day course is split in to six ‘bite-size’ modules which will provide delegates with the theory behind the requirements (multi-choice assessment at the end of each module to confirm learning) as well as a practical assessment to ensure that delegates can put into practice what they have learnt.
- Fire Dynamics
- Passive Compartmentation
- Legislation and Guidance
- Fire Door Specifications
- Individual Standards
- Risk Assessment & Inspection
- End of Course Practical Assessment
Following successful assessment, delegates will not only have the underpinning knowledge and practical skills, but the confidence to carry out the necessary inspections and determine the proportionate outcome for each fire door and illustrating that the life safety of your tenants is paramount to your organisation.
All of our fire safety webinars are delivered ‘live’ by our knowledgeable and professional trainer. Each session lasts approx. 2 hours, including time for Q&A.
